Bring a snack and sit out on the beautiful patio and enjoy some wonderful wine. It's safe for kids if you are outside; bring a ball for them to kick around on the grass. We had the opportunity to walk into the vineyard and pick some grapes. We've enjoyed the 2003, 2004 and 2005 Maximus and share it with everyone we can. I didn't know about that you could blend wines there; I know you can do it at Joseph Phelps and it's a lot of fun. I'm glad you are sharing this great winery with more people! The entire event you are lead through a tasting of various wine varietals, and then you are encouraged to mix up your own right there at the table. The NASCAR was very cool, especially when we fired it up and the engine was echoing off all the wine storage tanks in the room! A truly unique experience! I think I would be timid in trying that, especially knowing how complex wine can get. Although I would have to go for a red because I prefer those generally over white, rose, or sparkling.
